 Woods Fort

Historic Fort Woods is located in Troy, Missouri. It is on the corner of Main Street and Boone Street. It is where early settlers built a stockade to defend themselves from hostile  Indian tribes during the War of 1812. The fort features a log cabin. Also, the first home built in Troy, Missouri is located next to the fort, Historic Britton House. Main  Street today, in Troy, is still the center of activity as it was in the 1800s. Some of the establishments still there opened in the 1800s.
